Walk with Me

(Part 2)

 I heard the Lord say:
“The days are short. I am coming soon. Rejoice for there is peace in my presence. There is joy overflowing. I will comfort you with my Word. I am coming to bring peace that my love will surround and overtake this place. There is healing that abounds in my presence. There is a way that seems right to man, but it leads only to death. Life is in me. I am the way, so follow after me.  Live for me now that blessings will surround you and happiness will fill your soul. Let me be your lover, your friend, and a father, all that you need. Walk with me and talk with me, come and know me. Listen for my voice. Let me speak to your heart.”

We must be aware of the signs of the times. Jesus is preparing for His return. Joy, love and peace are found in His presence. He offers us blessings and happiness in this life when we live for Him.  We don’t have to wait until we go to heaven. God wants us to know Him and spend time with Him now. When we walk with Him, we move with Him, we follow His ways. Have you given up your walk - to walk with Him?

From the Living Bible translation: “You have wearied the Lord with your words. ‘Wearied him?’ you ask in fake surprise. ‘How have we wearied him?’ By saying that evil is good, that it pleases the Lord! Or by saying that God won’t punish us - he doesn’t care” (Malachi 2:17).

People of God, He does care what you do. He sees what is hidden and what is done in secret. The Holy Spirit will never leave you, so you drag Him along with you when you participate in the wrong things. Live holy lives before your righteous God. Have pure hearts. Don’t tie yourself to things that aren’t of God. Partner with Him instead. It’s time to get rid of the spots and wrinkles in our way of living, in our way of thinking, and in our character.

The Bible tells us to repent of our sins. That means more than just saying, “I’m sorry.” It means we turn completely away from those things. When we sin, we move away from God. When we repent, we begin to change and move towards Him. Our excuses don’t make sin, right or ok. The ungodly leave Him out of their lives. Don’t let your service to the Lord be contaminated by living with selfish attitudes and an evil heart.

Jesus came to break the bondage of sin. But you can still choose to sin because God gives you freewill. What will you do? If you have accepted Jesus as your Savior and Lord, you should no longer be living a lifestyle of sin. There are times you may be weak and give into temptation. If that happens, confess your sins to God and He’ll forgive them. You are no longer called a sinner, but a child of God - because you are one of the forgiven.

After we have accepted Jesus, the Holy Spirit comes to live in us. Galatians 5:16 says, “Live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature.”  The Holy Spirit gives you the strength to overcome those things in your life that aren’t pleasing to God. You don’t have to struggle. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you. That is what He’s there for. Let His power do the work.

Did you ever wonder how you can show God how much you love Him? Jesus said, “Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me” (John 14:21). And John wrote: “This is love for God: to obey his commands” (I John 5:3).

In the New Covenant, God said He would write His laws on our hearts. Now, we don’t keep the law because we have to, but because we want to. We want to do what’s right, because we love God and want to please Him. Do you realize that God, the greatest power in the whole universe, is on your side? But you are only on His side, when you do what He says. Don’t let sin be your master. Give up rebellion. Give up your walk. Come over to the Lord’s side and walk with Him. Make that decision today.

 I heard the Lord say:
“It is time for my people to rise up and stand for righteousness.  It is time to put on your marching boots. It is time to take the sword of my Word and put it in your mouth. Yes, stand up for my way and you will have the victory. I am always with you. Do not turn to the left or to the right, but always look to me. Abide in me for the answers you seek. Come, stay with me a little while.”
