Come and Follow Me

(Part 1)

All through the Bible, God teaches us how to live, how to relate to others, and even how to be successful. He reveals His ways and His thoughts to us. And, He wants us to apply His way of doing things to our lives. But you ask, doesn’t the Bible say God’s ways and thoughts are higher than ours?
According to Isaiah 55:8-9 that is true, they are higher than ours. But, it doesn’t mean His ways can’t be understood or attained by us. That is the very reason why God uses the Bible to teach us His ways and reveal His thoughts to us. We need to know them, understand them, and walk in them. God’s tired of us living way down here. Today, He is calling us to come up higher with Him.

I heard the Lord say:

“I am calling my people to me. I’m calling. I’m calling. I’m calling. It’s time. Wake up. Wake out of your slumber. Come and follow me. Do as you see me do. Walk as you see me walk. Let my thoughts become your thoughts and let my ways become your ways. I love my people so. But they are hard of hearing. Their eyes cloud over, and they become lackadaisical in their walk with me.  It's time to wake up. Come and see, and know the joy of the Lord.”

God’s ways are perfect, just, loving, faithful, holy, and righteous. In contrast, we’re told, “There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death" (Proverbs 16: 25) and “All a man's ways seem innocent to him, but motives are weighed by the Lord”  (Proverbs 16: 2).

How well are you doing? God says, “Believe.” Do you say, “I don’t believe it?” God says, “Love one another.” Do you say, “I hate you?” God says, “Speak truth.” Do you say, “It’s just a little lie?” God says, “Forgive.” Do you say, “They don’t deserve forgiveness?” God says, “Help others.” Do you say, “I have to take care of myself?” God says, “Follow my ways.” Do you say, “I’ll do my own thing?”

     I heard the Lord say:

“Tell my people that I long for them, that I love them. Prepare for the time to come. Know me, know my ways & follow them. There is a great work to do, and then my Son will return to you.  He is anxiously awaiting His return to earth to establish His rule, a time of righteousness, and peace, and rejoicing. It is soon time. Prepare yourselves for the coming of the Lord. For then, you shall surely know my glory.”

Through God’s son, Jesus, we receive forgiveness for our sins. Sins are the things we do that displease God, the things that don’t show love for Him or for others. Sin is against God. It contradicts His very nature. What’s the punishment for our sins? - Spiritual death and separation from God. How does God forgive? - By placing our sins under the sacrifice and blood of Jesus.

Jesus was willing to sacrifice His own life for us. When we accept Jesus as our Savior, His sacrifice is applied to our lives. That means we no longer have to pay this penalty for them. God takes out your sin and covers you with His righteousness.
     I heard the Lord say:

“I love my people. I am coming soon - the time is short. I will not tarry much longer. You need to know me. You think you know me. But you do not. Let your ears be opened to hear the Word of the Lord. Let your eyes be opened, your hearts be opened, so you will know me as the One True God, the great "I AM." For I am the One that brings true healing, not just a bandage. I am the One that brings true forgiveness, not just a rash word. I reach into the souls of men, for have I not created them. Will not every man stand before me and give account for the life they have led?  Yes, I love you - that you may be a healed people. Know me as a Father that loves you and heals you.”

Jesus died for us while we were still sinners. When we accepted the Lord, we came to Him with all our baggage, our hurts and sins, our wrong attitudes and bad habits. But now, God has taken us from the kingdom of darkness and set us in His kingdom of light. Now, we should be living in God’s kingdom and doing the things he promotes.

     I heard the Lord say:

“The whole earth is in travail. I have to come soon. Listen. Souls are crying out. They need me.  Salvation is in me. See what I am doing in the world. Look and see. It is time to expand your horizons. I am the God of the whole world. My plan is to give salvation to all that call on me.  They must hear of me. They must know me. A great time of tribulation is coming. It is looming heavy in the background. The time is soon. These forces are being held back for the elect’s sake.  Call my people onto me. Call them. Call them.”

     S
ons and daughters of the living God, the Lord has given me a mandate to call His people back to Him. Today, you have received that call.
