What God Says About Our Health

God didn't intend for us to be sick.
It is his will for us to be healed. It is his will for us to be healthy.

Praise the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits - who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases... Psalm 103:2-3

Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness.
(Matthew 9:35) Jesus healed all that were brought to him. He said if you have seen me you have seen my father - referring to God, his heavenly Father. He also said he did the works of his Father in heaven. So we need to realize God wants us well. He wants us healthy.

In the beginning we were made in God’s image (Gen. 1: 26, 27). That means we are made after the God kind, not the animal kind. When we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, God fills us with the Holy Spirit to strengthen, guide and direct us into all righteousness. He calls our bodies the “temple of the Holy Spirit”. So let’s not treat them with disrespect, misuse them or fill them with foods loaded with harmful chemicals and additives.

God told mankind to take dominion over the earth and the things on it (Gen. 1: 26, 28). Do you let tobacco leaves control you? Do you let drug and alcohol substances made from plants of the earth control you, instead of taking your rightful place by taking dominion and control over them?

God said six days shall you work and on the seventh day you shall rest. He set us the example in Genesis 2:2. Our bodies were made to work, so we have to move them now and then. To be balanced we also need to rest them once a week. Take time to be spiritually renewed, as well as to take time to play and enjoy life.

The Bible says a crushed spirit dries up the bones but a cheerful heart is good medicine – smile and laugh often. (See Proverbs 17:22)

Unforgiveness - and the resentment and bitterness it creates, eats away at the heart and binds you to your past. It wrecks your insides - this is not good for your health. Those feelings slowly kill you and guess what? - It doesn’t bother the other person at all. Release those circumstances and people to God. Let Him deal with the person that caused that hurt, that offense. Do yourself this favor and move on and stay healthy.

It’s a new day - God’s mercy, compassion and loving kindness are new every day. It’s time to move forward. Everyday is the beginning of the rest of your life. Begin making good memories and a healthy body now.
